I'm an Austin-based photographer with a lifelong fascination with landscapes, travel and the night sky.
My professional life took a different path. I trained as a cardiologist and spent much of my early adult life immersed in medicine and science. Photography and astronomy remained the creative counterpoint—ways of slowing down, exploring unfamiliar places and paying attention to light, scale and the natural world.
In recent years I've returned to photography with a much greater focus, particularly landscape, night-sky and infrared work. JRP Images is where I share that work, with an emphasis on Texas, the American West and the remote places that continue to draw me back.
